In 2018, the Allegheny Drifters celebrate their 15th Anniversary with the release of their 4th recording project, Rolling On. Their exciting signature style of bluegrass is characterized by smooth harmonies, careful song selection and soulful original tunes framed by hot fiddle and banjo, cool mandolin and guitar.
Mandolinist Bob Artis is a 50-year veteran of the western Pennsylvania bluegrass scene. He's a published author, and introduced the music to millions of pre-schoolers worldwide through appearances on the internationally known and beloved children's program, Mister Rogers Neighborhood. Guitarist Bernie Cunningham is a gifted instrumentalist and songwriter, as well as one of the most soulful lead singers in bluegrass today. Karen Artis provides rock-solid acoustic upright bass. She is also a fine vocalist and an excellent songwriter. Banjoist Radford Vance has performed with some of the great legendary bluegrass bands. His wife, fiddler Michele Birkby-Vance, is the holder of 20 state fiddle championship titles. Since 2017, Radford and Michele have become an integral part of the Allegheny Drifters' bluegrass sound and show.
