holding pattern is a new dance film created by slowdanger artistic directors taylor knight and anna thompson, in response to Miguel Chevalier's interactive installation Complex Meshes 2020. This work presents a future landscape where individuals must remain covered from the elements, due to risk of environmental and societal infection. Beings are immersed in digital and saturated worlds, alienating themselves from each other and communicating through expressive gestures and the responses from their environment. holding pattern illuminates the liminal space we are currently within and questions the potential future of an increasingly digitized and globalized world. This film was commissioned and produced by Wood Street Galleries in collaboration with the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival.
Miguel Chevalier's Complex Meshes 2020 is currently installed at Wood Street Galleries, a gallery in Pittsburgh's Cultural District operated by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
