Join the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust for Public Kite Flying Day in conjunction with A Sudden Gust of Wind, a newly commissioned public art project by artists Lenka Clayton and Phillip Andrew Lewis, which consists of 200 kite-shaped sculptures installed in 90 trees throughout Downtown Pittsburgh’s Cultural District. Free kites will provided in the Backyard at 8th & Penn, bring them wherever you choose! Our tip: bring your kite to Allegheny Commons Park on the North Side to fly and then head back to the festival to cool off.
