Mary creates individual works of art using colored, black, and metallic inks on paper. Her primary subjects are bugs, birds, and buildings. She typically works in the field, sketching her subjects over and over again until she gets it "right". Pointillism is one of her primary techniques. She starts by sketching the primary features of the subject matter and works through the nuances of its character, sometimes taking upwards of 40 hours to complete an individual work that only measures 8" x 10".
