This artist reclaims cast off vintage or antique findings and rework them to create unique assemblage jewelry. They search for lost pieces in flea markets, estate sales, and private collections. Their revamped work includes vintage beads, buttons, brooches, chain, and industrial pieces. They use small metal working techniques; such as, soldering, and wire wrapping to create my original designs. All of their pieces are one-of-a-kind and handcrafted. This artist is inspired by the past and it’s their passion to save these pieces to have them reborn again into a new wearable piece of jewelry.
All of the pieces are one of a kind. The artist has collected vintage or antique pieces and parts for ever. This artist decided to give them new purpose by reworking these components into wearable art. Each piece is a puzzle to put together. Because the findings, they wish to use, did not originally start out as part of their designs. they must make them work. The artist either, wire wraps, solders, or uses unique beading techniques to make these pieces fit. For larger statement designs, they use a life size dress form to pin key elements to and than they begin connecting through the previous methods. Some designs can take hours of working and reworking to make them balance or lay correctly. The artist must carefully consider weight, as they use many larger metal found objects. Once together, the artist tries to create their own clasps. They use vintage buttons and loops of beads, they create a metal hook, or they incorporate an amazing vintage clasp.
