Silk Creations by Janey

Dates

Wednesday, June 08 - Sunday, June 12

A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST ABOUT MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE: "Original, one of a kind hand painted silk is a very specialized and unforgiving art form. White silk is stretched on wood frames, designs are free hand drawn by the artist then painted by brush to create beautiful, one of a kind work. Many layers of dye are applied by brush resulting in deep rich colors. After the painting, the dyes are set by a lengthy, delicate but high heat steaming process that takes several hours. Once the dyes are set, the silk then goes through a multi-step wash process ending with permanent colors and silk that can be washed. All pieces are unique and one of a kind. No two are ever the same and all work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist, verifying the originality."
