Katydids Kritters

Dates

Friday, June 03 - Tuesday, June 07

A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST ABOUT MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE: "I combine functionality and whimsy to create kritters designed and sewn by me. I draft patterns from sketches, sew a prototype, and make any adjustments. I hand cut all piece, no commercial dies are used. I use upholstery as base fabric and topstitch quilting fabrics to form faces and create a raw-edge applique look. I do not use glues or stabilizers; each piece is hand finished. Because most of my materials are remnants or vintage fabrics, each pillow, doorstop, and draft snake is an original. I also create kids items (pillows, blankets, and "boo-boo" packs) that are animal shaped. Because these items need to be washed, I use fleece, flannel, and quilting cottons. These items are also original, hand cut items, designed and sewn by me."
