A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST ABOUT MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE: "For my wheel throwing pieces, I use stoneware clay and an electric wheel with both reduction and oxidation glazes with their respective kilns (reduction: variegated blue slate in my portfolio below) . For my sculptures I use stoneware clay with more grog in it to help it dry and fire without cracking. With my sculptures I currently have them unglazed but I have plans to use different metal washes or underglazes to give them color while preserving the texture and details they have. These are my first two sculptures as my main focus has been wheel throwing in the past but if selected I would like to feature both wheel and sculpted works."
