Found and Foraged Fibers

Volant, PA

Dates

Saturday, June 10 - Sunday, June 11
A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST ABOUT MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE: "Eco-printing is a gentle technique that captures the natural dyes released from leaves, when steamed and then fixed onto fibers during the process. Each garment is rolled around a wooden dowel and steamed for several hours to achieve the clear and vibrant print. Some of the plants and herbs I use for printing are peony, walnut, sumac, oak, maple, ferns, eucalyptus and wild berries. I constantly experiment and discover different prints from different plants. I also use bio regional dyes, plants that I personally grow in my garden and extracts from US dye companies to create the color palette you see today."
