A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST ABOUT MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE: "PACKPACK designs are original by Artist/Owner Brooke Lagrand. Brooke has a background in fashion design as a professional pattern maker. Prints are hand-painted in watercolors first creating color swatches on paper to find complementary colors for the pattern then hand painted directly or on sheets then cut to shape to layer the desired print. This is scanned digitally and a repeat pattern is created to print on running fabric yardage. The digital file is sent to the fabric mill in Missouri where yards of Brooke's custom-print are created using non-toxic, biodegradable inks on organic duck cotton. The yardage is sewn into prototypes by Brooke for the production lot, then sent for the final production order to Why Sew Workshop here in PGH. "
