A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST ABOUT MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE: "I am a watercolor artist who uses pure transparent watercolors. I don't use any other medium on my paintings but pure watercolor- no pen and ink, gouache, bleach, salt or any other medium whatsoever. I use 150 lb stretched cold-press watercolor paper. I paint in many layers, anywhere from 10 to 20 layers in order to get an effect that is translucent and not opaque. I adhere to a realistic style paying close attention to detail, creating each individual dot for lace and painting each individual leaf with its veins. I strive to create contrast using light and dark in my compositions. It takes on average 100 hours or more to complete a painting."
