A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST ABOUT MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE: "I work on repurposed wood that I find, thrift and scavenge. I cut, strip and sand down old wooden objects, then hand-burn original designs onto the renovated surfaces with a pyrography machine. My images are inspired by the patterns and designs I see in nature, and I often add paint or ink to these pieces to include a pop of color. Most of the finished pieces are then wired and displayed as wall-hangings or ornaments. Through this process, old, discarded objects become canvases for new artwork."
