Artist Statement on Material & Technique: "Each of my stoneware pieces are either wheel thrown or hand-built in, what I call "My Happy Place," aka my home studio. My studio consists of a Shimpo wheel, a slab roller (designed and built by my husband), 2 Skutt kilns and numerous other tools and accessories. While creating my pieces, I use a variety of under-glaze transfers, patterned rollers, forms, and cutters to create a unique style. After bisque firing, each piece is hand glazed with a brush to add color and possibly texture. After the glaze firing, each piece is then ready to add style and personality to any home. In addition to being unique and beautiful, all of my pieces are functional; they are food safe, dishwasher safe and microwavable."
