Artist Statement on Material & Technique: "Born into a family of three generations of Chinese painters, my ceramics are heavily influenced by my upbringing and experiences living in Japan and the United States. I create functional pottery that is either wheel thrown or slab built. Ceramics is used as a blank canvas and I integrate my training in traditional Chinese brush painting to create a hand painted or carved piece with illustrations of landscapes and botanicals. My creative goal is to achieve the perfect marriage of art and functionality and I hope this will bring joy to my collectors and allow them to connect with nature."
