Artist Statement on Material & Technique:
"My art style is meant to mimic the aesthetic of lino block print, and I achieve this effect by drawing in Photoshop. I begin by setting up each image in layers; a painted sky background, then the dark layer of all solid objects, and then my mark-making over top. My next step is to crosshatch the darkest colors on the dark background. This outlines each line of color, giving the effect it was carved from wood or linoleum. Then I draw layers of brighter colors on top of my base layer of dark tones till I reach the brightest highlights. The contrast of dark to light helps create that glow effect. No filters or special brushes are used to create each piece."
