Artist Statement on Material & Technique: "Flameworked Wearable Glass Art. One of a kind pieces are created by using a blow torch that runs on propane & oxygen at 2,500 degrees. With an endless variety of techniques I melt clear glass together with different forms of colored glass. I use other natural elements such as silver flake, copper wire, silicone carbide & opals to create a galaxy like effect inside the glass. Implosion Technique: By using a soft flame I'm able to control the heat & viscosity of colored glass stringers to create an intricate design on the outside of a bubble. Once the piece is melted down, the design is imploded into the clear glass, giving it a 3D effect. Hot sculpted Third Eye & Sunflower Pendants are executed with great detail & years of practice."
