Bre Short is a Pittsburgh-based singer-songwriter, composer, and performer whose music blends haunting melodies with emotionally rich storytelling, drawing audiences into a world where the mythic meets the intimate. Coming from a background in dance and theater, her work is shaped by movement, narrative, and atmosphere aiming to create an immersive experience that feels cinematic. During the festival, Bre will present her debut EP The Runner (2024) alongside new, unreleased material, performed live with her band—Chris Catone (keys), Brandon Lehman (guitar), Chip Homer (drums), and Mars (bass).

Bre’s artistic career spans over a decade of collaboration with acclaimed dance and theater companies in New York City and Pittsburgh, including Third Rail Projects, Punchdrunk NYC, The Pillow Project, Nadine Bommer Dance Theatre, and The People Movers. Her work bridges sound, movement, and storytelling—inviting listeners into an evocative landscape of vulnerability, imagination, and power.
