A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST ABOUT MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE: "Most people think of watercolor as thin, light washes of translucent color. Although all my paintings start out this way, I build up the material with many strokes to create the illusion of a medium much darker and more opaque. People are often surprised that I use watercolor and not pencil. I use the smallest of brushes to get the fine buildable detail. I used mixed media on some other of my pieces, from acrylic to pastels. Besides paintings and prints, other canvases and products include ornaments, candles, and stickers. My technique is one that differentiates myself from other artists, and my style stands out. A white background and all of my subjects as animals creates a continuation between all of my paintings and products."
