Artist Statement on Material & Technique: "My ceramic work is thrown on the potters wheel, then fired to cone 6 in an oxidation atmosphere. I have two different clay bodies that I work with, one being a richly colored red clay and the other light brown with speckles that show through to the glaze surface. Both are manufactured in Carnegie, PA. I enjoy these clays for their rustic and earthy quality. I make use of both brushed on and dipped glaze techniques. My work is focused on function, form and geometric patterns of design. I am currently making pieces for use in the home and garden. I create mugs, cups, bowls, serving platters, and teapots, as well as hanging planters, windowsill planters, bud vases, and frog vases."
