Artist Statement on Material & Technique: "Mars Design Studio is a national award-winning deaf person whose cutting boards and charcuterie boards set the standard in beauty and craftsmanship. Her work is the definition of functional art - designed to grace the most discerning table for generations." I craft my products: cutting/charcuterie/serving boards, trivets and coasters from the finest Appalachian and exotic hardwoods. Each item is hand- rubbed with pure, natural food grade mineral oil, eco-friendly linseed oil and beeswax conditioner. I use recycled wood scraps from the wood endings to make wall art, bowls and trays. I express my artistic style through my products using bold, vibrant colors in unique patterns. The wood colors are all natural, not stained or dyed."
